KLIPPERS RETAIN LEAD OVER LA RONGE

The Klippers opened their weekend road trip with a 5-2 loss to the Nipawin Hawks (15-31-3-3) on Friday, heading to La Ronge (22-25-3-2) on Saturday and Sunday, ceding one point to the Ice Wolves as the two sides split their weekend set, the Klippers only win coming in overtime 3-2 as the Ice Wolves picked up an important extra point before picking up a 1-0 shutout win on Sunday.

The Klippers lost 5-2 in the opening game of the road trip Friday in Nipawin, dropping a 5-2 final to the Hawks. A scoreless first led to the first goal in the second off the stick of Kindersley’s own Ethan Sautner to give the Klippers a 1-0 lead, but the Hawks scored on the powerplay in the final five minutes to tie the game 1-1.
