Head Coach/General Manager-
Garry Childerhose joins the Klippers after an impressive 5-year tenure as Assistant Coach/Assistant GM with the Flin Flon Bombers, including back to back trips to the Canalta Cup finals. Garry has been integral in Flin Flon’s development of exceptional talent on the ice with 3 players from this year’s team receiving NCAA Div 1 commitments, and 12 since his arrival in Flin Flon. This will be Garry’s first head coaching opportunity, although he has taken the reins temporarily as Flin Flon’s bench boss Mike Reagan took a number of Hockey Canada World Jr A jobs, going 13-1 in Reagan’s absence. Coach Childerhose was awarded the 2016-17 Dwight McMillan Award as the SJHL’s top Assistant Coach, an honor bestowed via voting by all the league’s Assistant Coaches.
Childerhose played his Midget Hockey in Pembina Manitoba before returning to Saskatchewan for his Junior A career. In 131 games played with the Melfort Mustangs Garry registered 92 points before committing to the State University of New York at Geneso, a division 3 school in North-Western New York.
Larry has been an integral piece in establishing the Klippers as a physically fit and hard team to play against. Larry has Head Coaching experience with the Thunder Bay Flyers, Dryden Ice Dogs, La Ronge Icewolves, Flin Flon Bombers, and Kindersley Klippers. Coach Wintoneak has established a successful fitness gym and elite training business in Kindersley where he has worked with numerous athletes including NHL’er Ashton Sautner.
Director of Player Personnel-
Stef played in the SJHL with the Humboldt Broncos before embarking on a professional hockey career South of the border with the Nashville Knights and the San Antonio Iguanas. Stef returned to Saskatchewan and has maintained his connections in hockey as a scout for the SJHL’s Melfort Mustangs and now as the Head Scout and Director of Player Personnel for the Klippers.
