KLIPPERS REGAIN MOMENTUM

The Iron Horse Kindersley Klippers had a busy weekend, traveling to Wilcox to face Notre Dame and then to Humboldt.

In Game 1, the Klippers took on Notre Dame in what would be their final matchup before the Hounds relocate to Warman next season. The Klippers were red-hot, scoring eight goals, with nearly every player earning a point. Cody Jaman had another unbelievable performance, boasting a .913 save percentage and allowing only two goals.

In Game 2 on Sunday, the Klippers traveled to Humboldt for a hard-fought battle. Both the first and second periods remained scoreless, with the first goal of the game coming just over a minute into the third period as Humboldt struck first. However, Dawson Karol responded, tying the game halfway through the period. The game headed to overtime, and in the final minute, Zak Anderson lit the lamp, securing a 2-1 victory. Cody Jaman was once again outstanding, stopping 32 of 33 shots for an impressive .969 save percentage. Following his stellar weekend, Jaman was named Goaltender of the Week.

In other news, rookie goaltender Brett O’Halloran has been named a finalist for both Goaltender of the Year and Rookie of the Year, while Mason Bueckert has been nominated for the Most Sportsmanlike Award.

The Klippers’ next games are this weekend against their rival, the Battlefords North Stars, with Saturday’s game being their final home game of the season.
