KLIPPERS ADD NEW PLAYERS TO ROSTER

The Kindersley Klippers have stayed busy over the last few weeks, making several trades. They acquired 20-year-old Odin George from the Estevan Bruins. Odin brings a wealth of experience to the team from his time with the Camrose Kodiaks in the AJHL and with Estevan. The Edmonton, Alberta, native has fit right in, scoring three goals in seven games, and he has also been an important contributor to the Klippers’ penalty kill.

Last week, the Klippers made a few more moves. They sent defenseman Tavon McCorrister to the Notre Dame Hounds. In return, the Klippers acquired 19-year-old Van Eger, who is currently playing with the Prince George Cougars in the WHL. The Klippers hope Eger will eventually return to the SJHL, as his experience in the WHL will be a big asset to the team.

In the final trade last week, the Klippers acquired 18-year-old Avery Johnson from the Drumheller Dragons of the AJHL, sending only a Player Development Fee in return for the New Brunswick native. Avery recorded 12 points in 21 games with the Dragons. He adds speed and puck-moving ability to the team and is expected to be a key contributor in the years to come.
