HOOKY FOR HOCKEY SUCCESS

On October 21st, the Iron Horse Kindersley Klippers hosted Hooky for Hockey, an event that invited local students and staff to come out and cheer on the Klippers. The team was facing off against the Notre Dame Hounds in front of a sold-out crowd of excited kids, all screaming their hearts out.

The Klippers opened the scoring early, thanks to Dawson Karol, but the Notre Dame Hounds quickly tied it up less than a minute later. Kindersley would go on to score two unanswered goals to finish off the first period, with Alex Mack getting his first goal of the game and Dawson Karol netting his second. With Kindersley leading 3-1 heading into the second period, the Klippers looked to build on their lead. However, Notre Dame stunned the Klippers by scoring three unanswered goals, taking a 4-3 lead into the third period.

Kids from all around were in attendance, including three from Kindersley, one from Coleville, and one from Marengo.

Notre Dame would extend their lead to 5-3 early in the third, and with the crowd growing quieter, Will Christian scored a crucial goal to get the crowd—and the Klippers—right back into it. Shortly after, Alex Mack would score his second goal of the game to tie it up. As both teams battled fiercely, Alex Mack would send the crowd into a frenzy, completing his hat trick and scoring the game-winner for the Klippers.

Hooky for Hockey was an unforgettable experience for everyone involved, with the action keeping fans on the edge of their seats throughout the game. The atmosphere was electric, and the Klippers organization is already excited for the next time they get to host such an event.

Key players of the game included Alex Mack, who recorded a hat trick and scored the game-winner; Dawson Karol, who had two goals; Shayne Tibbles, who recorded three assists; and Cam Perlinger and Zak Anderson, both of whom had two assists.
