Klippers to Feature in 2027 Hockey Day in Saskatchewan

KERROBERT, Sask. – The Kindersley Klippers are proud to be part of Hockey Day in Saskatchewan 2027, presented by Keyera, as Dodsland and Kerrobert prepare to co-host the 19th edition of the province-wide celebration from January 13 to 17, 2027.

The Klippers will take centre ice on Saturday, January 16, at Kerrobert Memorial Arena, facing the Nipawin Hawks in one of three marquee matchups scheduled for the official Hockey Day in Saskatchewan festivities. Additional events and celebrations will be announced in the coming months.

The January 16 game schedule includes:

1:00 p.m. – Female Under-18 AAA: Saskatoon Stars vs. Swift Current Wildcats

4:00 p.m. – Male Under-18 AAA: Notre Dame Hounds vs. Battlefords Stars

7:30 p.m. – Junior A: Kindersley Klippers vs. Nipawin Hawks

Located approximately 25 kilometres apart, Dodsland and Kerrobert have strengthened their connection through their shared love of hockey. Following the loss of the Dodsland Sports Centre to a fire in July 2025, Kerrobert opened its doors to Dodsland teams, helping ensure approximately 360 minor hockey players could continue playing the game they love.

The 2027 event will celebrate the resilience, generosity and community spirit that have defined the response to that loss, while bringing hockey fans from across Saskatchewan together for a memorable week of festivities.

All proceeds raised through Hockey Day in Saskatchewan 2027 will support the continued rebuilding of the Dodsland Sports Centre, as well as upgrades to Kerrobert Memorial Arena.

The Klippers will also take part in the official announcement celebration on Wednesday, October 28, at Kerrobert Composite School. The event will feature floor hockey activities, community representatives and special guests as the host communities officially kick off their Hockey Day in Saskatchewan preparations.

Last season, Avonlea hosted the 18th edition of Hockey Day in Saskatchewan, raising a record $248,000 for local rink improvements. Since the event’s inception in 2008, more than $1.85 million has been raised to support hockey-related projects throughout the province.

The Klippers are excited to be part of an event that celebrates the game, supports local hockey infrastructure and brings Saskatchewan communities together. We look forward to seeing Klippers fans, hockey families and supporters from across the province in Kerrobert on January 16, 2027.
