KLIPPERS SIGN LONEY

The Iron Horse Kindersley Klippers are excited to announce the signing of 2006-born defenceman Cowyn Loney.
Loney joins the Klippers after splitting last season between the Nanaimo Buccaneers and the Port Alberni Bombers of the Vancouver Island Junior Hockey League (VIJHL).

Hailing from Fort St. John, BC, Loney spent his minor hockey career with the NEBC Trackers U18 program before making the jump to junior hockey as an 18-year-old. Standing at a towering 6’6″, he appeared in 45 games in the VIJHL last season, recording 4 goals and 13 assists for 17 points. In 10 playoff games, he added 1 assist and accumulated 21 penalty minutes.

Head Coach and GM Clayton Jardine on Loney:
“We are excited about adding Cowyn’s size, physicality, work ethic, and team-first attitude. Building a big, physical, and mobile defensive core is a priority for us, and Cowyn will fit in well with the group. He led his entire league in plus/minus after the Christmas break—when the games really mattered—and that’s something we value highly.”

The Klippers organization would like to warmly welcome Cowyn and the entire Loney family to Kindersley!
