The Iron Horse Kindersley Klippers headed to Melville over the weekend to take on the Millionaires.
In Game 1, the Klippers opened the scoring just four minutes in, thanks to Brock Evans notching his 10th goal of the season. Melville responded with two goals, making it 2-1 heading into the second period. Jacob Dennis struck first in the second, scoring his second goal of the year to tie the game, but Melville regained the lead late in the period, taking a 3-2 advantage into the third.
The third period was hard-fought, and Russ Demo scored his first goal of the season to tie the game and send it to overtime. After a scoreless OT, the game went to a shootout, where Melville secured a 4-3 win.
In Game 2, the Klippers registered 23 shots but couldn’t solve Melville’s goaltender, Ben Laurette. The Millionaires took the game 2-0.
This Friday, the Klippers host their rivals, the Battlefords North Stars. The game is sponsored by Mav Truck Services, and Phantom Light will be in attendance, serving drinks. Plus, NRB is guaranteeing the 50/50 draw at $1,000!
With only two home games left this season, make sure to come out and cheer the guys on as they push for the playoffs!
