The Iron Horse Kindersley Klippers made four separate transactions leading up to this years trade deadline, which took place on January 10th.

The first, and only trade involving a forward, saw the Klippers add 2005 born forward Hunter Motley from the Olds Grizzlys in exchange for a Player Development Fee, and the CJHL playing rights to Braden and Camden Cunningham. Motley, who hails from nearby Czar, AB, skated in 121 AJHL games prior to joining the Klippers.

Next, the team added 2005 born defence man Bryson Carlyle from the Weyburn Red Wings. Carlyle, a 6’2”, 190-pound blue liner from Kelowna, BC, was a veteran of 99 junior games prior to joining the Klippers. In return, Weyburn received the CJHL rights of Avery Johnson, a 3rd round draft pick, and the list rights to 2009 prospect Hudson Sayers.

The Klippers then added 2006 born defence man Owen Turner from the La Ronge Ice Wolves. Turner had split the last 1.5 seasons between the Melville Millionaires and the Ice Wolves, skating in a total of 67 SJHL games prior to joining the Klippers. 2007 born defence man Jordan Lafleur and a Player Development Fee went back to La Ronge in exchange.

In a subsequent transaction, the Klippers traded 2006 born defence man Mason Eggen to the Nipawin Hawks in exchange for a 3rd round draft selection and the SJHL list rights to 2009 born defence man Cooper Perrin.

The Klippers organization would like to welcome Hunter, Bryson, Owen, and Cooper to the organization.
