Orr to Oil City

The Iron Horse Kindersley Klippers Hockey Club is pleased to announce that the team’s Business/Marketing Director Tyler Orr has accepted a position within the Edmonton Oilers organization.

Orr joined the Klippers upon the completion of an MBA in Sports Management masters degree from the University of New Brunswick in 2017. Team President Brett Sautner remarked, “Tyler brought his hard work, passion, and love for the game to our team and made the organization better. We are proud as an organization to help good people move up the ladder. We wish Tyler the best of luck with the Oilers.”

*Editors note:

“I think it’s commonly held knowledge I (Tyler) do the write-ups for our team website, and I would be remiss if I didn’t take the chance here to express some of my feeling as I move on to a new opportunity, so bear with me. Kindersley has been amazing for my development not only professionally but personally. I am amazed by the support this town and it’s people have offered me, and I can’t thank you enough. I hope the people reading this know that without the great business-men and women that have stepped up in the corporate world to sponsor, that have given their time volunteering, or have in any way contributed to Klippers Hockey I wouldn’t have had the chance to chase my goals. Literally every highlight on my resume from my time with the Klippers is because there was a sponsor, fan, player, coach, or family member willing to buy in, and for that I am so grateful. It is bittersweet to leave this town and program as I know the future is extremely bright and I would have loved to be a part of that; a part of a Championship that I know is coming. To the players that represent this organization and their families, it has been a highlight of my life to know you. I love you all. The Board of Directors has been supportive, given me direction, offered their expertise and time, and allowed me the freedom to learn from my mistakes and humbled me when it was needed; that’s all I could have asked for. There are too many people that deserve so much more recognition like game-day volunteers, rink staff, billet families, town of Kindersley officials, etc that I hope know how important they are and how key they are to the teams success. What a ride. Klipper for life.”

The Klippers are currently accepting applications for the Marketing/Business Director position. All interested applicants are asked to send a cover letter and resume to team president Brett Sautner at KindGlass@sasktel.net
