Iron Horse Kindersley Klippers hire Clayton Jardine

The Iron Horse Kindersley Klippers are extremely pleased to announce the hiring of Clayton Jardine as the new coach and general manager.

Clayton has spent the last four seasons with the Camrose Kodiaks of the AJHL. In his time with Camrose his Kodiaks made the playoffs every season and he helped 12 players receive Div 1 scholarships.

Prior to his time with the Kodiaks, Jardine lead the Kindersley Klippers to a 36-16 record and was recognized as the SJHL Coach of the year.

Brett Sautner, President of the Klippers commented, “We took our time with this decision. We had a hiring committee go over the candidates and interview a short list and then the entire Klipper board held final interviews. Both groups concluded the Clayton was the perfect fit for the job!”

When Jardine coached the 2018-19 Klippers he helped present Frozen Four finalist Justin Close obtain an NCAA Division 1 scholarship. During this time he also coached present Klippers assistant coach, Tyler Traptow. When asked about the Jardine hire Traptow said, “Clayton is a very detail oriented and hard working coach. He is extremely approachable and is always willing to help in any way possible. He will be very big asset to this organization”

The Klippers board acknowledges that the last few years is not where they want to be as an organization. The board would like to thank the fans and corporate sponsors for their continuing passion and support. The board is confident this hire will put the entire organization in right direction.

“Our goal is not only to make the playoffs but win the SJHL championship and we feel this hire help us do that,” added Sautner.
