Couple of Klippers headed to Worlds.

Klippers prospects Ryan Smith and Troy Kosmynka will both be wearing the Maple Leaf on their chests representing this great country July 2018, but it will be with a different piece of lumber in their hands.

Both Smith and Kosmynka recently returned from the Team Canada U-19 Fast Pitch tryout and received the good news this week they have been added to the roster for the World Championship that will be held in Prince Alberta next summer.

Over 200 athletes convened in Prince Edward island this summer to show their best in front of Team Canada bench boss Jeff Elsworth, with only 17 players making the final cut. Troy and Ryan both have experience playing catcher while Troy also pitches and Ryan holds the big mitt at first base.

With Men’s fast pitch having no traction with post secondary opportunities the U-19 Worlds represent the pinnacle of the sport for these young athletes and it is phenomenal that Ryan and Troy have made it to this point. Historically speaking, the U-19 Worlds has showcased talent from powerhouses such as Japan, New Zealand, and the United States and we hope you will join us in congratulating Troy and Ryan on this honor and wish them luck representing Canada.

Who says hockey players aren’t athletes….
